Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for the ACIG Member Hub
Effective date: October 17, 2025
Who we are: American Contractors Insurance Group
This Privacy Policy explains how ACIG collects, uses, and protects information when eligible ACIG Members (“Members,” “you”) access our private, login-only knowledge and resource repository (the “Hub”). The Hub is provided exclusively to ACIG Members for internal knowledge sharing and collaboration related to our construction, insurance and risk-management ecosystem. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use the Hub to market products or services.
1) Scope & Eligibility
- Access is limited to ACIG Member organizations and their authorized users (owners, employees)
- The Hub is not directed to the public or to consumers.
- By using the Hub, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Use.
2) Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to operate a secure, Member-only site, benchmark, and to improve the Hub. We do not collect payment data on the Hub; ACIG does not sell goods or services via the Hub.
Account & Identity Data
- Name, work email, company/Member affiliation, role/title, phone number, interests, and areas of expertise.
- Credentials (hashed passwords or SSO identifiers).
Usage & Technical Data
- Log and device data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps).
- Security/audit events (logins, failed logins, permission changes).
- Engagement signals (searches, downloads/views of materials) to improve relevance and measure usefulness.
Member-Contributed Content
- Documents, templates, videos, checklists, and other files intended to serve as wise business practices for the benefit of partner/Member companies. Comments, and metadata you or your company upload or share on the Hub.
Support & Communications
- Messages you send to us (e.g., help requests, suggested content, feedback, survey responses).
3) How We Use Information
- Access control & security: authenticate users, prevent unauthorized access, investigate security issues.
- Hub operations: host, maintain, and improve features, search, and content relevance.
- Member support: respond to requests, provide updates about Hub changes or availability.
- Compliance: meet legal, regulatory, and audit obligations.
4) How We Share Information
- Within the ACIG community: Your name, company, role, contributions, and activity signals (e.g., who uploaded a file) may be visible to other authorized Member users for collaboration and attribution. Company information and wise practices, resources and stories may be shared for the benefit of all Members.
- Service providers (processors): Reputable vendors that host, secure, analyze, or support the Hub (e.g., cloud hosting, authentication, analytics limited to first-party/operational purposes). They are contractually obligated to protect data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal/disclosures: If required by law, regulation, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Hub.
- No selling: We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
5) Member-Contributed Materials & Associated Risks
The Hub’s core purpose is to share Member-contributed resources to help reduce risk and improve outcomes. To enable that:
- License for internal sharing. When you or your company upload or transmit content, you grant ACIG a limited license to host, display, and share that content within the ACIG Member community only, for internal, non-commercial use.
- You control what you share. Do not upload or transmit confidential, proprietary, regulated, or privileged information unless your organization has cleared it for internal community sharing. Remove or anonymize sensitive details (e.g., personal data, client identifiers, confidential project data) before uploading or transmitting.
- Information or details (potential contributing factors, potential causes, etc.) relating to specific open or potential claims are to be avoided.
- No professional advice. Materials on the Hub are provided “as-is” for peer learning. They are not legal, medical, engineering, or other professional advice. Members should evaluate applicability to their own operations and consult appropriate professionals as needed.
- Use at your own risk. ACIG does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or fitness of ACIG or Member content. Adoption or adaptation of any resource is at your organization’s own risk.
- Accuracy & attribution. Contributors and content authors are responsible for ensuring they have rights to share content and that it is accurate to the best of their knowledge at the time of sharing.
- Takedown/corrections. If you believe content is improper or infringes rights, contact us at hubsupport@acig.com with details; we may remove or update materials in our discretion. Content relating to or provided by a Member organization will be removed upon request by that Member.
6) Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate for a private, enterprise repository (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit, role-based permissions, audit logs). No system is 100% secure; please use strong passwords/SSO, keep credentials confidential, and follow your organization’s security policies.
7) Data Retention
We retain account, log, and content data for as long as needed to operate the Hub, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Member organizations may request account deactivation or content removal (subject to backups, audit needs, and community continuity).
8) Your Choices & Rights
- Profile & preferences: You may update certain profile fields in your account or by contacting us.
- Access & deletion: Requests to access, correct, or delete personal information can be made through hubsupport@acig.com. We may need to verify your identity and coordinate with your Member organization.
- Cookies & similar tech: The Hub uses strictly necessary and functional cookies (e.g., session, authentication). You can control cookies via your browser; however, essential cookies are required for login.
- If your organization requires specific rights notices (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, GDPR/UK GDPR), ACIG can provide an addendum upon request.
9) International Transfers (if applicable)
- If data is processed outside your region, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs or other lawful mechanisms) as required by applicable law.
10) Third-Party Links/Tools
- The Hub may link to third-party sites and resources (e.g., meeting registration, industry wise practices, trusted partners) intended for the benefit of Members. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before using integrated tools.
11) Children’s Privacy
- The Hub is for professionals affiliated with ACIG Member organizations and is not intended for children.
12) Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Hub. Significant changes will be made via email or newsletter. Your continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
